OpenAI is rolling out a new ID verification process for organisations to access certain future AI models. This move, which is called Verified Organisation, aims to enhance security and prevent misuse of the company’s models as they become more advanced.

OpenAI may soon implement a mandatory identity verification process for organisations in order to access its most advanced AI models via API in the future. According to a support page published on the company’s website last week, this new verification system, referred to as Verified Organisation, provides access to the most advanced models and capabilities on the OpenAI Platform.

This new verification process from OpenAI, called Verified Organization, is “a new way for developers to unlock access to the most advanced models and capabilities on the OpenAI platform,” reads the page. OpenAI has confirmed that to verify an organisation, a government-issued ID from one of the countries supported by OpenAI’s API is required.
