Nothing’s next big thing, their first over-ear headphones, have leaked online, and let’s just say people have mixed feelings about it.
The upcoming Nothing Headphone (1) sports a bold and boxy look, complete with a transparent shell that reminds you of old-school cassettes. It’s unusual, yes, but it follows the same design vibe we’ve seen in Nothing’s phones and earbuds. Love it or hate it, you can’t say it looks like anything else out there.
The leaked photos quickly landed on Reddit, where opinions were split. Some users praised the design for being different. Others didn’t hold back, calling it clunky and odd-looking. But the real surprise came when Sennheiser, one of the oldest and most respected names in audio, jumped into the conversation.
Using its official Reddit account, Sennheiser joked, “The only way we’d make a design like that is if we were bought out again and had the best salespeople. Even then…” The comment was cheeky but made it clear that they’re not fans of the design.
While Sennheiser focuses on premium sound and solid build quality, Nothing is betting big on eye-catching looks and strong branding. Many fans of the brand say they’ll wait to hear how it sounds before making up their minds.
The Nothing Headphone (1) is expected to launch on July 1, alongside the company’s new smartphone.
