Netflix has revealed that it is working on a significant redesign for its TV app. According to a report by The Verge, the streaming giant aims to simplify content discovery, reduce decision fatigue, and encourage viewers to spend more time watching rather than endlessly browsing.

For starters, there will be a new look which aims to replace the static tiles with dynamic boxes that extend as soon as your remote/cursor lands on them. These tiles will expand as you hover/linger on them, giving you more information about what you’re looking for. If you hover for a while on the box, then a short clip/preview will be shown along with information like genre, year of release, number of episodes, and more.

“We often see members doing gymnastics with their eyes as they’re scanning the home experience,” Pat Flemming, Netflix’s senior director of product, told The Verge. “We really wanted members to have an easier time figuring out if a title is right for them.”
