Microsoft’s annual Build developer conference kicks off this week, and it’s expected to bring artificial intelligence (AI) upgrades about Windows 11, Microsoft Copilot, and the new rumoured Snapdragon Elite-X powered laptops. Microsoft has been a torchbearer in the generative AI space in the last few years offering competitive consumer and enterprise AI products across its whole ecosystem.
The event will be held both in-person in Seattle and online. The company will also be live-streaming the event from its YouTube channel on May 21, 9 PM.
Microsoft Build 2024: What to expect
As we mentioned earlier, Microsoft Build 2024 is expected to be centred around AI-related upgrades, and the event has a tagline "How will AI shape your future?" We can also expect some new Windows 11 features, including a new AI Explorer, that would have the ability to analyse all your tasks on your PC and store that in memory.
Many rumours have also pointed out that Microsoft could also tease Windows 12 in this event, but according to Tom’sGuide, Microsoft doesn’t plan to release this OS before 2025.
Additionally, Microsoft is expected to showcase Copilot updates and its deeper integration with Office and Microsoft 365.
Considering Google I/O was primarily an AI event, Microsoft will look to up its game at Build 2024.
Microsoft Azure, the cloud computing service, will likely receive significant attention at the Build 2024 event. Rumours suggest that Microsoft could announce new AI tools and capabilities for Azure, which aims to simplify and expand its reach to newer areas.
Since it is a developer conference, we can expect a lot of announcements related to Windows and developers taking advantage of AI tools and capabilities Microsoft has to offer. Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella will give a keynote address on 2021 and is likely to talk about the future of AI and how Microsoft wants to harness the technology.
