
Avatar Legends: The Fighting Game has a confirmed release date. The 2D fighting game will launch for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2, Nintendo Switch and PC via Steam on July 2, 2026. The game comes with full cross-play functionality so that players on any of the aforementioned platforms can join in from any part of the world.
Developed by Gameplay Group and co-published by PM Studios and Gameplay Group, Avatar Legends: The Fighting Game features 12 playable fighters from the Avatar universe at launch, with more coming with seasonal drops. The game features a “Flow system” of fighting, with fast movement being the core element of gameplay. Numerous support characters are designed to influence your fighting style; they can also equip you with special moves.

The 2D fighting game features a single-player campaign with an original story. Besides the Story mode, Avatar Legends: The Fighting Game also comes with more game modes like Arcade, Training and Spectator Modes. The Training Mode will equip players of all skill levels “with advanced tools, including hitboxes, frame data, save states and more,” the developers said.
The game can be played both online and offline. You can battle players from around the world in Ranked and Casual matches online.
The game features hand-drawn 2D animation to bring TV characters from Avatar: The Last Airbender and The Legend of Korra to life. It also comes with an Art Gallery containing never-before-seen original artwork from the Avatar TV shows and the world of Avatar in general.

Avatar Legends: The Fighting Game is available for pre-order on Steam. You can also wishlist the game on the PlayStation Store and the Microsoft Store. Those who preorder the game will get an exclusive alternate skin for the Support Character “Samurai Appa” and access to an exclusive colour variant for Aang, Korra, Zuko, Katara, Toph, and Sokka.
