Cristiano Ronaldo, the legendary Portuguese footballer, will now showcase his skills on a different field. Ronaldo announced his debut as a playable character in the iconic fighting game series, Fatal Fury. The announcement, made via Ronaldo's social media, was accompanied by a teaser video.
“Big news to share with everyone today! I'm going to be a character in the new fighting game FATAL FURY: City of the Wolves! @FATALFURY_PR Let's have some fun on April 24th!,” said Ronaldo in a post on social media platform X.
The upcoming game, Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves, marks the return of the popular franchise after a 26-year hiatus. The last game — Garou: Mark of the Wolves — in the franchise came out way back in 1999.
CR7 in Fatal Fury: What to expectScheduled for release on April 24, 2025, the game will feature Ronaldo as a unique fighter with a blend of martial arts and football-inspired moves. His character dons a red-and-green outfit reminiscent of the Portuguese national team, complete with his iconic number 7 and captain's armband.
In the game teaser, Ronaldo's character showcases a dynamic fighting style, incorporating signature football techniques such as slide tackles and powerful kicks. Fans will also recognise his trademark "Siuuu" celebration, which has been integrated as a victory pose.
While Ronaldo did not lend his voice to the character, voice actor Juan Felipe Sierra has brought the digital version of the football star to life.
