"Jitni cheeze Rohit Sharma bhulta hain, utna maine kisi ko nahi dekha cheeze bhulte huye (The amount of things Rohit Sharma forgets, I haven't come across anyone as close to him)," these were Virat Kohli's words on teammate and current Indian skipper in the Breakfast With Champions show a few years ago. The views have been echoed by other Indian players, and Rohit too in his interviews has admitted that he does have a knack of forgetting stuff, such as leaving valuables behind in the hotels while the team is travelling.

A new video is doing rounds on social media, which claims that the skipper this time forgot to take the ICC Champions Trophy silverware after the post-match press conference on Sunday. The short clip shows Rohit moving away from his seat without picking the trophy, which is then taken by a staff while someone can be heard saying "Rohit bhai" in the room.

However, this wasn't the case as confirmed to moneycontrol.com by journalists, who were present for the press conference. In fact the video of the moment shared by ICC on its Facebook page suggests that the skipper got from his seat to pose for photos in front of the reporters assembled.

'I am not going to retire'

Ahead of the final between India and New Zealand, which the Men In Blue won by four wickets, speculations were rife about Rohit's future in the ODI format, with many anticipating the Indian skipper to draw curtains on it. Shubman Gill, Rohit's deputy, was quizzed about the same ahead of the final, and the Indian skipper chose to end the presser by addressing the same.

Rohit confirmed that he isn't going anywhere, thus putting an end to all the speculations. "I am not going to retire from this (ODI) format. Going forward please don't spread rumours," said the skipper.
