Under Rohit Sharma's captaincy, India finally ended the drought at ICC competitions. He led the team to World T20 title last year, following which India also won the  ICC Champions Trophy 2025. This was India's second ICC title in less than a year. In addition, he also guided the Men In Blue to the finals of ICC ODI World Cup 2023, where India finished as runners-up. Virat Kohli led Team India to the Asia Cup finals against Pakistan in 2017, but India failed to win the title. Kohli captained India in 95 ODI games, having won 65 and lost 27 games.
