World Bank President Jim Yong Kim and Salesforce CEO Marc Benioff have been elected to the WEF's Board of Trustees, whose members include Reliance Industries Chairman Mukesh Ambani and PepsiCo chief Indra Nooyi. The World Economic Forum (WEF), whose Annual Meeting is under way here, said on Friday that Kim and Benioff were elected as new members of the board. The WEF updated its governing body from Foundation Board to Board of Trustees in August 2015.

The Board of Trustees was set up to support the Forum's mandate to serve as a representative group of key global stakeholders. The Board of Trustees reflects the multi-stakeholder concept on which the World Economic Forum is built and which is fundamental to our role as the International Organization for Public-Private Cooperation. "In playing an active role in setting the strategic framework for the Forum, the board acts as a guardian of our independence and impartiality," said World Economic Forum Founder and Executive Chairman Klaus Schwab.

The members of the board also include Jordan's Queen Rania, Nestle Chairman Peter Brabech-Letmathe, Bank of England Governor Mark Carney, OECD's Angel Gurria and IMF chief Christine Lagarde, among others.
