Sibi P Martin

A photographer by profession, artist Sibi P Martin from the Kottayam district in Kerala has been creating stunning artwork for more than 20 years. This fine arts graduate from AP Arts School Karukachal in Kerala, grew up seeing the diverse and rich natural beauty of the state and its enviable culture and elevates it through his artworks. Though Sibi worked with oil and canvas in his earlier years, these days he is using an unusual tool for expression… a knife. The artist feels that acrylic and knife (on multi-wood canvas board and regular canvas), brings out the aesthetics and visual vibrancy in his paintings which often takes nature as the core subject. Renowned impressionists like Claude Monet and Paul Cezzane have also inspired Sibi greatly. The artist has exhibited at various exhibitions — The Horizon Art exhibit at DC Art gallery at Kottayam (2000), Dubai Shopping Festival (2004), Kerala Lalita Kala Academy (2013), Karnataka Chitrakala Parishad (2013), Chitra Santhe organized by KCP (2014). Sibi wants to bring affordable art to the consumers and is in the process of designing and building his own art gallery at Kottayam.
