Industry is estimating cotton production for the year 2016/17 to be around 355 lakh bales (I bales = 170 kg) as against the Government’s first estimate of 321.2 lakh bales. As per the Cotton Advisory Board, India’s cotton output is seen at 351 lakh bales, up 4% from 338 lakh bales produced in 2015/16.By: Skymetweather.com
