In ongoing Rabi season, Moong sowing is running behind by 12.96% compared to same time of last year as farmers have shifted towards other crops. Moong prices are trading below Minimum Support Price (MSP) of Rs. 5225 per quintals in the spot market and this has discouraged farmers from Moong sowing. So far Moong has been sown in an area of 0.94 lakh ha against the normal in season area of 8.65 lakh ha in the country.By: Skymetweather.com
