Delhi records highest maximum in August so far

The trend of maximums breaking records in Delhi during August this year continues as the Palam Observatory once again recorded a high of 39.6oC on Friday. Just a day before, on Wednesday the temperature had settled at 39.5oC. This is the second highest temperature observed in Delhi in the last ten years during the month. The highest is 40.1oC, recorded on 11th August, 2009.

The average monthly rainfall in Delhi during the month of August is 214 mm whereas the city has only received 120 mm of rain, which is one of the big factors for temperatures rising in the city.
