As per data, Chana acreage in ongoing Rabi season was at 6.63 million ha, up 2.7% on year. Sowing has been affected over the last couple of weeks following the Government’s decision to demonetize 500-1000 Rupee currency notes. Sowing though rose marginally during the last week after the Government last week allowed farmers to buy seeds from Central and State government agencies using old 500 Rupee currency notes.By: Skymetweather.com
