Gautam Gambhir accused by Sreesanth of 'fights with colleagues, not respecting senior players'. Ex captain responds

Reacting to S Sreesanth's video, Gautam Gambhir wrote on X (formerly Twitter) on Thursday, urging others to smile when others only wanted attention.

Former India pacer S Sreesanth slammed current Kolkata Knight Riders mentor and former India captain Gautam Gambhir of saying "something rude" to him and accused him of disrespecting seniors and fighting with all of his colleagues.

In an Instagram video, the 40-year-old pacer said he wanted to clear the air on the incident that took place in the Legends League Cricket match between Gujarat Giants and India Capitals in which the duo were involved in a long stare-off.

"Just wanted to clear the air with what happened with Mr. fighter. One who always fights with all his colleagues. For no reason whatsoever. He does not even respect his own senior players, including Viru (Virender Sehwag) Bhai. That's exactly what happened today. Without any provocation, he just kept on calling me something which was very rude which shouldn't have been said by Mr. Gautam Gambhir," the former India pacer said in the video.

"I am not at all at fault here. I just wanted to clear the air straight away. What Mr Gambhir has done, sooner or later all of you will get to know. The words which he used and the things he said on a cricket field, live, is not acceptable. My family, my state, everybody has gone through so much. I fought that battle with all your support. Now people want to down me for no reason. He said things he shouldn't have said. I will surely let you know what he said," he added.

The pacer received support from his wife Bhuvneshwari, who said she was shocked to see a player like Gambhir, who had played for India for many years, fall to such levels.

"It is so shocking to hear from Sree that a player who has played for India with him for many years can stoop to this level. Even after so many years of retirement from Active cricket . After all upbringing matters a lot and it shows up when these kind of behaviour comes up on ground. Shocking truly shocking," she wrote in a story on Instagram.
