Oppo is rumoured to launch a new smartphone under its A series. The next A series phone would be called A9 which would have better cameras, a bigger battery, and a faster processor. It would succeed the A7 which was launched last year.

According to MySmartPrice, Oppo A9 would sport a 6.53-inch display with a water-drop notch. Leaked renders show that the A9’s front panel has very thin bezels which have resulted in an impressive screen-to-body ratio of 90.7 percent.

The renders also reveal that the back of the phone has a fingerprint scanner below the dual camera setup that includes a 16MP primary sensor with LED flash. At the back, the Oppo logo has a similar placement like the Oppo Reno 10x Zoom Edition.

There is no word on the processor and RAM/ ROM options to be used on the A9. It is rumoured that the SoC would be coupled with 6GB RAM and 128GB storage. In terms of battery, the A9 would pack a 4,020 mAh battery. The report could not confirm whether the A9 would support Oppo’s VOOC 3.0 fast charging. The device is expected to run on Color OS 6 based on Android 9.0.

The A9 is expected to launch on April 30 in China for Yuan 1,700 (roughly Rs 17,600) in three colour options — Ice Jade White, Mica Green, and Fluorite Purple.
