Jayalalithaa to be sworn in as TN CM along with 28 ministers

J Jayalalithaa will be sworn in for a second consecutive tenure along with 28 ministers. Jayalalithaa will be starting her fourth term in office. Earlier, she was the Chief Minister of the state from 1991 to 1996, the second term was between 2001-06 and third from 2011-16.

The swearing-in ceremony of AIADMK chief J Jayalalithaa as Tamil Nadu Chief Minister will be held at the Centenary Auditorium of Madras University on Monday.

J Jayalalithaa will be sworn in for a second consecutive tenure along with 28 ministers. Jayalalithaa will be starting her fourth term in office. Earlier, she was the Chief Minister of the state from 1991 to 1996, the second term was between 2001-06 and third from 2011-16.

According to the list presented to Tamil Nadu Governor Rosaiah on Saturday, 13 new faces including four women have been introduced into the Cabinet.

Sources said Jayalalithaa will hold the portfolio of Public, Police, General Administration and Home. Senior AIADMK leader O Paneerselvan will be sworn in as the Finance Minister while Edappadi K Palanisamy will handle the Public Works Department.Her fourth term as CM - second one in a row - is a feat no one has achieved since her mentor Marudhur Gopalan Ramachandran over 30 years ago.Like many, she also came from a film background. Born in Mysore, Jayalalithaa entered the film world in 1960s.
