In a bid to reach out to the Centre, former Indian Premier League chief Lalit Modi on Saturday praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi by calling him the most savvy man.

Lalit Modi tweeted, "Our PM is most savvy man. He does not need my advice. When he bats he will hit the ball out of the park. #respect only."

The remarks came even as India's who's who are embroiled in the controversy involving the former IPL chief which mounted troubles for the Bharatiya Janata Party.

External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj and Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje are under opposition's attack for allegedly helping Lalit Modi. Swaraj had admitted that she had no objection to Lalit Modi's request to travel out of the United Kingdom and spoke to British MP Keitz Vaz and the British High Commission in this regard.

After Swaraj, Raje was the second BJP to be dragged in the Lalit Modi row. She claimed that she had signed documents for Lalit Modi's to get UK stay permit as a friend. The document was signed in 2011 when she was the leader of the Opposition in the state Assembly.

In a big relief to Raje, the Narendra Modi government had given a clean chit to the Chief Minister and her son Dushyant Singh and found no no irregularities in them, said sources. No wrong doing has been found in deals between Dushyant Singh's Niyant Heritage and Lalit Modi's Ananda Heritage, the sources added.

Raje who arrived in Delhi today will also attend a NITI Aayog meeting.
