Rains trigger landslides in HP, claim 11 lives in Maha

Nahan in Sirmaur district received 110 mm of rains till this evening, followed by Kasauli 63 mm, Pachhad 60 mm, Dharamsala and Renuka 45 mm each, Gohar 37 mm, Mandi 30 mm and Shimla 20 mm.

The day temperatures dropped by a few notches to stay at 19.6 deg C in Shimla, 28 deg C in Sundernagar, 30 deg C in Bhuntar, 20.6 deg C in Kalpa and 25.6 deg C in Dharamsala.

Meanwhile, major rivers including Ganga, Ghagra and Sharda in Uttar Pradesh have started receding as there was no rainfall in the past 24 hours.

River Ganga has started receding in Fatehgarh, Kanpur, Mirzapur, a Central Water Commission report said.

In Rajasthan, light to moderate rainfall occurred at many places in Udaipur division and at isolated places in other divisions during the past 24 hours.

"Pratapgarh recorded 8 cm of rainfall, while Bari Sadri, Udaipurwati and Masuda each recorded 6 cm" the MeT said.
