BMW 3 Series 320d Sport variant re-launched in India at Rs 42.10 lakh

BMW has silently relaunched the sport variant of the entry level 320d series in India at Rs 42.10 lakh.

The variant was originally dropped from the line-up a while ago and the sport variant was only available on the 330i. However, apart from a different engine, the car remains identical to the BMW 330i Sport.

The 320d Sport is powered by a 2-litre 4-cylinder engine that produces 190 PS and 400 Nm of torque. Transmission comes via an 8-speed torque convertor automatic. BMW claims the 320d Sport gets a 0-100 km/h sprint time of 6.8 seconds.

As mentioned before, the car is identical to the 330i Sport. However, there is one tiny difference. Where the petrol variant gets the M Sport steering wheel, the 320d misses it out. Other features are carried forward, like the 3-zone climate control, LED headlamps, powered front seat, sunroof, 8.8-inch touchscreen infotainment, cruise control and launch control.

The car does miss out on some other premium features like the ambient interior lighting, Apple CarPlay, digital instrument cluster, a larger infotainment system and hands-free parking. All of these can be found in the 320d Luxury Line variant of the 3 Series.

The BMW 3 Series sedans on the whole compete with the likes of the Mercedes-Benz C-Class, the upcoming Audi A4 and the Jaguar XE.
