German auto major Volkswagen (VW) will unveil its compact sedan VW Ameo, which has been designed specifically for the Indian market, at the upcoming Delhi Auto Expo. The Volkswagen Ameo will be manufactured at VW's Chakan facility in Maharashtra. It will compete with the likes of Maruti Swift Dzire, Hyundai Xcent, Honda Amaze, Tata Zest and Ford Figo Aspire.

These sub-4 metre compact sedans are priced in the range of over Rs 5 lakh to around Rs 8.3 lakh. "By marking its entry into the dynamic compact sedan space, the Volkswagen Ameo is expected to be a game changer for the brand in India," the company said in a statement. The company has positioned VW Ameo as made-in-India and made-for-India carline.

The 2016 Delhi Auto Expo will be held from February 5-9. Besides, VW will showcase its premier sports utility vehicle Tiguan and sedan Passat GTE at the 13th edition of the Delhi Auto Expo.
