Intel has high hopes with its new Ultrabook concept that floated earlier this year. The first Ultrabooks are almost out, with ASUS’ UX21 first to arrive this month. Apple’s MacBook Air has a firm stand in its price segment and Intel is targetting the Ultrabooks at it. AMD, on the other hand thinks they’ll have a bad time competing with the MacBook Air. X-bit Labs spoke with John Taylor, AMD’s director for client product marketing and software. He said that AMD already has the Llano that is capable of providing the same or better battery life than Intel’s technology, as well as a better experience. AMD feels that a lot of the features of the Ultrabooks that Intel is boasting are a part of Windows 8. These include features such as the fast sleep mode.Click here for full story
