Blue Coat Names Dr. Hugh Thompson As Senior VP And Chief Security Strategist

In his new role, Dr. Hugh Thompson will focus on aligning Blue Coat's vision and product implementation to market requirements.

Blue Coat Systems, Inc., a provider of Web security and WAN optimisation solutions, has announced that it has named Dr. Hugh Thompson as Senior Vice President and Chief Security Strategist. Dr. Thompson is a luminary in the security industry and has co-authored three books and more than 80 academic and industry publications on information security. In his new role, he will focus on aligning Blue Coat’s vision and product implementation to market requirements. Dr. Thompson will report to President and Chief Operating Officer David Murphy.
