Prey 2 could get cancelled

Could Bethesda be on the verge of cancelling Prey 2? We certainly hope not.
March 24, 2012 / 10:30 IST

A lot of gamers may not be familiar with the name Prey because let’s face it, it’s not a huge franchise like Call of Duty or Battlefield. However the game was a highly enjoyable first person shooter with some trippy level design and game mechanics that ensured it got rather favourable reviews from critics and gamers alike. With Prey 2, Human Head Studios had looked to create an open world game fusing the first-person, free running mechanics from Mirror’s Edge with the science-fiction universe that felt it was stripped straight from Mass Effect. The result of course looked ace. However according to website PSFocus, the game could now be cancelled. They haven’t cited any reasons but apparently the game’s publisher, Bethesda Games will release an official statement next week. I really hope this isn’t true but if it is, I hope Square Enix swoops in to save the day once again.
