Sony's massively multiplayer online shooter - Planetside 2 - is now officially live. To commemorate the launch of the game, Sony has released a launch trailer of the game. The trailer gives a pretty good taste of what can be expected in the game, considering the game is a giant warzone that can house thousands of players as they fight each other for control of areas in the world. While most multiplayer shooters are based on a matchmaking or server system, what sets Planetside 2 apart is the game's single persistent world. This means that things will continue to happen even when you aren't playing, and the next time you play, you could be logging in to a radically changed world with completely different borders. When the game was in closed beta, one of the few ways to get in was by purchasing the Alpha Squad pack. Joining the Alpha Squad came with the pretty hefty price tag of $39.99 (approximately Rs 2,158) for what is a free-to-play game, but it does come with a lot of in-game goodies. According to the website, joining the Alpha Squad gave you immediate access to the closed beta of the game, along with 4,000 station cash (around Rs 2,158) to spend in the in-game store for any game by Sony Online Entertainment. Along with all this, you will also get an exclusive title: Founder, along with a six month 10 percent experience and resource boost and 12 weapon-unlocks spread out among all the classes.
