Tea production rose 12.06% to 182.84 million kg in October 2023, compared to 163.15 million kg in the same month last year.
According to industry experts, the fall in production had helped in higher price realisation at the auctions.

India produces around 110-120 million kg of orthodox tea annually, as against the normal Sri Lanka produce of 300 million kg.
The production stood at 1115.88 million kg in the April-December period of the last fiscal, according to Tea Board data.
