The recall is for certain 2023 Model 3 and Model Y vehicles operating software prior to 2023.38.4, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
The company, which is expected to launch the GenX Nano soon, had developed a 2-cylinder 800 cc diesel engine that was also aimed at powering the small car but it has decided against using it for the time being.
With the latest Twist variant, the transition is complete. It remains to be seen whether and how much it would help the Nano shed the baggage of manufacturing defects, poor performance and the "sub-standard" image that it came to be symbolized with in its earlier avatar.
