Trinamool Congress leader Saket Gokhale, who was a member of the Standing Committee on Labour, has taken the place of Bachchan in the parliamentary panel on Communications and Information Technology.
"After four annual terms as Chairperson of the Standing Committee on Science & Technology, Environment, Forests and Climate Change, it was time to step down. I am still, however, a member of this Committee that covers a very large span of subjects," he said in a post on X.
The Committee recommends that the facility of mobile video conferencing in all other high courts may be expedited so that litigants from remote and interior areas have access to fast and speedy justice.
A lawmaker part of the committee said government officials denied a data leak from the CoWIN portal, and that the leaked data in public domain was a collation of data bought from several sources.
The committee appreciated the efforts made by the Defence Ministry towards the indigenisation of military platforms and hoped that the country would see "100 per cent contract value" going to Indian vendors in the years ahead.
