Nitish Kumar continues to be mentally alert and remains the politically attractive and credible politician of Bihar, JD(U) veteran KC Tyagi said.
Some of KC Tyagi's remarks were seen as a departure from the JD(U)'s official stand on sensitive issues at a time when it has positioned itself as a trusted ally of the BJP at the Centre.
Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has turned down an offer from the Opposition INDIA bloc to become Prime Minister, Janata Dal (United) leader KC Tyagi said. Tyagi also revealed as to why JD(U) broke away from INDIA Bloc.
Congress leader KC Venugopal has refuted the reported claim made by Tyagi regarding an offer extended to Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar by the INDIA alliance to assume the Prime Ministerial post.
"Nitish Kumar is not a candidate for the post of the prime minister. The JD(U) is the most trusted member of the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) and Prime Minister Narendra Modi is the leader of the alliance. But he (Kumar) certainly is a PM material," JD(U) General Secretary and spokesperson K C Tyagi told reporters after the party's national council meeting here.
The BJP leader's remarks come a day after JD(U) leader KC Tyagi said the switching of party’s MLAs in the BJP was not a good sign for alliance politics.
JD(U)'s national spokesperson K C Tyagi also hit out at the Congress saying it does not have any credibility and accused it of not being serious about fighting corruption.
While seven demands of the opposition have been covered, three demands still remain untouched, K Pandiarajan, spokesperson of AIADMK said.
Mallya has been given a week's time to respond either in person or through his lawyer, says Karan Singh, chairman of the Rajya Sabha ethics committee.
The select committee will present its report in the first week of the next session of Parliament.
