World Bank approves 4 India projects worth $800 million to support development initiatives

World Bank India Country Director Junaid Ahmad said the four projects will support India's efforts to build back better by creating a sustainable and resilient economy.

In the World Bank's latest 'Doing Business' 2017 report, India's place remained unchanged from last year's original ranking of 130 among the 190 economies that were assessed on various parameters.

"An economist by training, Ahmad brings with him broad development experience. After joining the World Bank in 1991 as a young professional, he worked on infrastructure development in Africa and Eastern Europe," a World Bank release said.
