The deal of 2015 that stands out the most is the buyout of Mumbai's iconic Lincoln House by the suave deal maker Cyrus Poonawala from the US government worth a whopping Rs 750 crore making it the largest residential real estate deal in the country.
The sea-facing two-story bungalow, measuring over 25,000 square feet, has been bought by the billionaire chairman of the Aditya Birla Group for his personal use. The deal was closed through an auction, in which five bidders participated.
The deal is considered to be highest ever as the property has been bought for personal-use, industry experts said. Jones Lang LaSalle (JLL), an international consultancy firm which carried out the deal, has confirmed the sale.
