Govt asks Law Commission to examine uniform civil code issue

The Law Ministry's Department of Legal Affairs has also asked the Commission to submit a report regarding the issue.

It is official. BJP leader DV Sadananda Gowda has resigned from the post of Karnataka Chief Minister and BS Yeddyurappa loyalist and Lingayat leader Jagadish Shettar will replace him.

With several loyalists of B S Yeddyurappa gunning for his head, Karnataka chief minister D V Sadananda Gowda today said he would accept any "direction" issued to him by the BJP leadership.
