The asset being sold by Essar Power is an inter-state transmission line that links Mahan in Madhya Pradesh to Sipat pooling substation in neighbouring Chhattisgarh
In June 2021, Adani Power had emerged as the successful bidder for the 1,200 MW project.
The renewable energy venture comes close on the heels of EGFL investing in hydrogen power in the UK and coal gas in India.
Both units of the project are operational and supported by an end-to-end raw material sourcing and evacuation infrastructure, a company statement said.

The generation was up 57 per cent for the January-March quarter of 2016-17 at 2.92 BUs compared to 1.86 BUs in the year-ago period, Essar Power said in a statement.
"Essar Power Hazira, a subsidiary of Essar Power, 2x135 MW power project in Hazira was now operating consistently at close to 100 percent capacity utilisation," Essar Power said in a statement.
The company said commissioning was done in a record 53 days - from IBR hydrotest to final synchronisation - making it among the swiftest in the industry. The first unit was commissioned in July last year.

Elaborating, Maroo said operationalisation of its stranded plants like Mahan in Madhya Pradesh and slump in coal prices in international markets will help the company earn profits during the current fiscal.
The Mahan plant was linked to the Mahan Coal Block, and the company had applied for tapering coal linkage in May 2011 an issue that was taken up in the SLC (Standing Linkage Committee) meeting in August 2014.
"The company expects cargo handling to increase to 85 MT in 2016-17 from 59 MT in 2015-16, a growth of more than 40 percent on a year-on-year basis," the Ruias-promoted firm said in a statement.
Speaking to CNBC-TV18, Sushil Maroo said that the power sector expects a more benevolent approach financial institutions and the RBI as the industry is going through a rough patch where completion of projects has delayed and demand is short.
This is the third reverse e-auction for subsidy support for buying 10 million standard cubic meters per day of gas will be held on March 15 and 16.
