Before assuming the role of CEO, Chakraborty led DTDC as Executive Director for 15 years, the company said in a statement.
The founder of the cargo company says that for transporting cargo across distances of over 1,000 km, the railways are more efficient and sustainable than roads. At the moment, 18-20% of DTDC’s volumes are transported through railways, he said.
He said the company is also expecting 30 per cent growth in total shipments handling this festive season (October-November) as compared to September.
The move aims at offering reliable and service responsive international solutions to India-based Business-to-Business (B2B) and Business to Consumer (B2C) customers
"The investment from DTDC will be used to strengthen the core technology infrastructure and build on the solutions being offered," Chokshi told PTI.
