Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) conducted the Maiden Flight Test of Long Range Land Attack Cruise Missile (LRLACM) from the Integrated Test Range (ITR), Chandipur, off the coast of Odisha on November 12, 2024, from a mobile articulated launcher. During the test, all subsystems performed as per expectation and met the primary mission objectives. The missile performance was monitored by several range sensors like Radar, Electro-Optical Tracking System (EOTS) and telemetry deployed by ITR at different locations to ensure complete coverage of the flight path.
The guided Pinaka rocket was today successfully test-fired for the second time from launch complex-III of the Integrated Test Range (ITR) launch pad at Chandipur.
In salvo mode, the two surface-to-surface missiles which have a strike range of 350 km and are capable of carrying 500 kg to 1,000 kg of warheads were successfully test-fired in quick succession from mobile launcher from launch complex-3 of the Integrated Test Range (ITR) at around 9.35 AM, defence sources said.
The surface-to-surface missile was test-fired at around 10:05 AM from a mobile launcher in salvo mode from launch complex-3 of the Integrated Test Range, about 15 km from here,defence sources said.
A fire broke out in Chandipur's ammunition depot in Odisha early Monday morning. The fire broke out at 4 am in the ammunition testing centre of the Proof and Experimental Establishment or PXE.
