APTEL has upheld approval granted for transfer of 75.01 percent ownership of Prayagraj power project to Renascent Venture but without any reduction of adopted tariff, the company said in a statement.

Contrary to the market's perception of an APTEL order that is said to have struck down compensatory tariff for Tata Power and Adani Power, Anil Sardana, MD of the former says the market has got it wrong and termed the order a "vindication" for the company.
CERC in February 2014 had ruled that Tata Power and Adani will be allowed to increase tariffs temporarily to compensate for additional fuel costs that they were incurring due to expensive coal imports in their plants in Mudra, Gujarat.

The Maharashtra Electricity Regulatory Commission (MERC) had last year, ordered transfer of RInfra's 7.92 lakh low-end residential consumers with a monthly power consumption of up to 300 units to Tata Power's distribution arm from November 1 last year.

Regulator Petroleum & Natural Gas Regulatory Board (PNGRB) raised the natural gas pipeline tariff for Gujarat State Petronet's 2,239 kms high pressure gas grid network by 11 percent to Rs 26.58 per mmbtu, effective from July.
