Benchmark indices ended lower on June 28 with Nifty below 15,850 as Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman announced another stimulus package. At close, the Sensex was down 189.45 points or 0.36% at 52,735.59, and the Nifty was down 45.70 points or 0.29% at 15,814.70.

Sugar stocks rally | Share price of sugar companies rallied 5-20 percent as the government brought forward the target date for achieving 20 percent ethanol-blending with petrol by two years to 2023 to help reduce the country's dependence on costly oil imports. Analysts are of the view that the sector is well poised to benefit from, both, global and domestic factors. Share price of Balrampur Chini added 3 percent while that of Shree Renuka Sugars jumped 5 percent. Dwarikesh Sugar gained 8 percent while Uttam Sugar surged 20 percent.

ISGEC Heavy Engineering | CMP: Rs 738.70 | The stock surged 20 percent after the company reported net profit at Rs 63.4 crore in Q4FY21 against Rs 13.2 crore in the year-ago period. Revenue of the company was up 4% at Rs 1,617.7 crore versus Rs 1,555 crore.

Escorts | CMP: Rs 1,202.35 | The share price ended in the green after Escorts Agri Machinery (EAM), division of Escorts Limited, said it will be increasing the prices of its tractors effective July 1, 2021. There has been a steady rise in commodity prices necessitating a price hike to offset the impact of the continuing inflation, the company said.

Thyrocare Tech | CMP: Rs 1,317 | The share price fell 9 percent after PharmEasy acquired a 66.1 percent stake in Thyrocare on June 25 for a consideration of Rs 4,546 crore. API Holdings (API), the parent company of PharmEasy, announced the "signing of definitive documents to acquire 66.1 percent stake in Thyrocare from Dr A Velumani and affiliates at a price of Rs 1,300 per share aggregating to Rs 4,546 crore," an official statement noted.

Power Mech | CMP: Rs 707.50 | The stock price jumped over 5 percent after bagging order worth Rs 9,294.14 crore. "The (consortium of PMPL- AMR India) got awarded a project by Central Coal Fields (A Miniratna Subsidiary Company of Coal India Limited) for the development and operationalisation of Kotre Basantpur Pachmo Project, Jharkhand, in Mine Developer Cum Operator (MDO) mode for extraction of Coking Coal, the company said in the release.

ONGC | CMP: Rs 122.55 | The scrip ended in the green after global research firm CLSA upgraded the stock to buy and raised target to Rs 165 from Rs 105 per share. It is of the view that the stock is pricing in Brent of only USD 51 per bbl adding that using spot rate would take up fair value to Rs 260 per share, according to a CNBC-TV18 report. Domestic research and broking firm Motilal Oswal in its report has maintained buy call on the stock with the target of Rs 150 per share.
