With the Enforcement Directorate looking to attach more properties in the Yes Bank case even while the stock price of the troubled bank continues its alarming fall, it is worth examining how a promising institution got here in the first place. Significantly, Kotak Mahindra Bank and Yes Bank both got licences to operate at the same time, yet while the first is known for its conservatism, the latter under its co-founder Rana Kapoor is today the byword in excesses.
