The International Space Station (ISS) recently shared a captivating series of images of Earth on the social media platform X. Among these stunning visuals is a remarkable view of India from space, shining brightly beneath a canopy of stars.

In their post on X (formerly Twitter), the ISS included a caption that reads: "When you can see the stars above, the city lights below, and the atmospheric glow that blankets Earth's horizon. Pic 1) Midwest United States Pic 2) India Pic 3) Southeast Asia Pic 4) Canada."

These four images feature different regions across the globe. The photograph of India is particularly striking, showcasing the country’s vibrant city lights. It highlights the densely populated areas, with clusters of bright lights punctuating the dark night, alongside some more dimly lit regions.

Many viewers responded enthusiastically to the ISS photos, with comments like “awesome” and “gorgeous” flooding in. One user remarked, “Simply stunning. We live on one amazing rock!” Another comment noted, “We spread out like spider webs.”

Alongside the stunning image of India, the ISS shared three additional views of Earth. One picture captures the Midwest United States, showcasing intricate cloud patterns over the landscape. Another displays Southeast Asia, featuring a beautiful interplay of land, water, and scattered clouds.

The third image features Canada at night, where city lights sparkle amidst the dark, and a glowing green aurora dances across the sky. The curvature of Earth is also prominently visible.

According to NASA, the ISS orbits at an altitude between 370 km and 460 km above Earth. From this unique perspective, it regularly provides captivating imagery of our planet.
