Prime Minister Narendra Modi officially became part of the viral ‘Fitness Challenge’ on Twitter, by posting a video of his exercise routine every morning. PM Modi can be seen doing Yoga and breathing exercises in the video he posted with the tag #HumFitTohIndiaFit.
In the tweet, the prime minister explained that his morning walk is inspired by the Panchtatvas or the five elements — Prithvi, Jal, Agni, Vayu and Aakash.
Here are moments from my morning exercises. Apart from Yoga, I walk on a track inspired by the Panchtatvas or 5 elements of nature - Prithvi, Jal, Agni, Vayu, Aakash. This is extremely refreshing and rejuvenating. I also practice breathing exercises. #HumFitTohIndiaFitpic.twitter.com/km3345GuV2— Narendra Modi (@narendramodi) June 13, 2018
Union Minister and Olympics silver medalist, Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore, had started this challenge on Twitter to highlight the importance of fitness and regular exercise. Those nominated in the tweet were required to post a video of an exercise from their workout, and pass on the challenge to as many people as possible.
The trend caught up quickly, with celebrities, sportsmen and politicians taking up the challenge and posting their videos on Twitter and other social media. Indian cricket team’s captain Virat Kohli posted his own video and challenged Modi, which the PM accepted promptly.
Challenge accepted, Virat! I will be sharing my own #FitnessChallenge video soon. @imVkohli#HumFitTohIndiaFithttps://t.co/qdc1JabCYb — Narendra Modi (@narendramodi) May 24, 2018
