Maharashtra's Public Health Department reported 166 suspected cases of Guillain-Barré Syndrome (GBS), with 5 suspected deaths. Of the confirmed cases, 52 have been discharged, 61 are in ICU, and 21 are on ventilators.

Gujarat UCC Committee member Advocate RC Kodekar says, "The UCC committee has been formed, but its functioning will be decided after a meeting is held with former Supreme Judge Ranjana Desai... JD(U) MP Sanjay Kumar Jha praised PM Modi's Lok Sabha speech, highlighting the direct transfer of welfare money to people's accounts and the rise of digital transactions in India, calling it a revolutionary program. Jha says, "Central govt has also introduced several other schemes like making drinking water available in houses." He also criticized Rahul Gandhi calling caste census 'fake' and questioned his understanding on the topic.

Telangana Congress chief Mahesh Kumar Goud hailed the caste census as a historic decision, stating that it would enable the Telangana government to implement targeted welfare schemes, as well as provide employment and educational opportunities to specific sections of society.

A total of 12 lakh crore rupees have been spent over the last ten years to make fertilizers affordable for farmers, said PM Modi.

Under the PM-Kisan Samman Nidhi, 3.5 lakh crore rupees have been deposited directly into farmers' accounts, he stated.

Moreover, the government has raised the Minimum Support Price (MSP) to record highs, with procurement now three times higher than it was a decade ago.

During his speech in Lok Sabha, Prime Minister talked about double AI.

"Some people use the term 'AI' because it is in fashion, but for me, it is 'double AI' - double strength of India - one is Artificial Intelligence and second is Aspirational India," he said.

"Honorable Speaker, after the President's address, a woman President, a daughter from a poor family, was not given due respect," said Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

"However, the way she is being insulted and demeaned—what justifies this? I can understand political frustration and despair, but why such opposition against the President?" he asked.

Before 2014, there were only 3,800 MBBS seats for ST students. Today, this number has increased to nearly 9,000, the Prime Minister highlighted

For OBC students, MBBS seats were less than 14,000 before 2014. Today, this number has risen to around 32,000, meaning 32,000 OBC students will become doctors, he said

In the last ten years, a new university has been established every week, a new ITI every day, and a new college every two days. Imagine the growth in opportunities for SC, ST, and OBC youth, he stated

In 2014, before our government came to power, the number of medical colleges in the country was 387, said PM Modi

He stated that today, there are 780 medical colleges

With the increase in the number of medical colleges, the seats have also grown, the Prime Minister pointed

The victim's identity remains unknown, but after reviewing CCTV footage and gathering local intelligence, police determined that a juvenile, a Child in Conflict with Law (CCL), committed the murder in a fit of rage between 12-1 am. The juvenile has been arrested, and the murder weapon was recovered. Investigations are ongoing.

In a written reply to the Lok Sabha, Minister of State for Home Nityanand Rai stated that anyone, regardless of race, occupation, position, or sex, is eligible for the Padma Awards. However, serving government employees, including those in Public Sector Undertakings, are not eligible, except for doctors and scientists. All nominations, including self-nominations, are reviewed by the Padma Awards Committee for consideration.

Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini shared that several important decisions were made during today's cabinet meeting. The Haryana Wildlife Conservation Bill 2024 was approved, alongside a compensation of Rs 3.10 crore to 'Arhtiyas' to offset losses caused by moisture during the Rabi season of 2024-25. Additionally, the cabinet approved an amendment to the Village Common Lands Regulation Act of 1961.

At the invitation of India's External Affairs Minister (EAM), Dr. S. Jaishankar, Philemon Yang, the President of the 79th Session of the UN General Assembly (PGA), will be in India from February 4–7, 2025. During his visit, EAM and PGA will engage in talks on important multilateral and regional matters of shared concern. Yang will also meet with the Hon’ble President of India, Rashtrapatiji, as part of a courtesy visit.

Bharatiya Janata Party-ruled Gujarat is set to announce the implementation of the Uniform Civil Code (UCC) on Tuesday. This comes after the Gujarat government approved the formation of a committee in 2022 to explore the feasibility and necessity of UCC in the state.

Four police personnel, including an outpost in-charge, have been suspended over incidents of cow slaughter in the district in the past few days, officials said on Tuesday. The action was taken after carcasses of the animal were found in the Phoolbagh police outpost area on Monday, reported PTI. The recovery triggered a protest by BJP workers led by a former youth wing leader.

Heavy fog early on Tuesday disrupted flight arrivals and departure at the airport here, prompting diversion of some international carriers to nearby cities, reported PTI, citing officials. Delays were caused between 6-7 am and incoming international services from destinations, including Muscat and Dubai were diverted to nearby Tirupati and Hyderabad airports, they added. A few domestic flights also suffered minor delays, they added.

Authorities have banned begging in Madhya Pradesh capital Bhopal and warned of penal action against those found involved in it as well as people who give alms. The state's Indore district has already banned begging, reported PTI. Bhopal district collector Kaushlendra Vikram Singh prohibited begging in an order issued on Monday evening under section 163 (2) of the Bharatiya Nagrik Suraksha Sanhita.

Israel is turning to its citizens to help produce electricity and profit from it as demand grows rapidly by putting solar panels on their roofs to take advantage of the sun as a key natural resource. About 15% of Israel's electricity production is generated by renewable energy, with about 70% coming from natural gas, and the Energy Ministry has set a target of 30% by 2030 that will rise sharply by 2050 when it aims to have net zero emissions. "This is what the energy transition is all about - from (people) being a consumer to becoming an active member in the energy sector and becoming a producer," Ron Eifer, head of the ministry's sustainable energy division, told Reuters.
