Nowshera Assembly Constituency Results: JKNC's Surinder Choudhary Emerges Victorious, Defeats J&K BJP Chief Ravinder Raina by 7,819 Votes

After eight rounds of counting, Surinder Choudhary of the Jammu & Kashmir National Conference party is leading in the Nowshera constituency with a margin of over 10,000 votes. Meanwhile, Ravinder Raina of BJP is in second place as per latest trends by the election commission.

Jammu and Kashmir BJP president Ravinder Raina is trailing in the Nowshera assembly constituency, as early trends from the Election Commission indicate. Leading the race is Surinder Kumar Choudhary of the Jammu & Kashmir National Conference (JKNC). Other candidates, including Bahujan Samaj Party’s (BSP) Manohar Singh and Jammu & Kashmir People's Democratic Party’s (JKPDP) Haq Nawaz, are also trailing behind.

Raina, who previously secured the constituency for the BJP in 2014 with 37,374 votes and nearly 50 per cent of the vote share, is now facing a much tougher contest. He is up against multiple opponents this time, including Haq Nawaz (JKPDP), Surinder Choudhary (JKNC), Manohar Singh (BSP), and Independent candidate Shiv Dev Sharma.

The vote counting process has started in the Nowshera constituency of Jammu & Kashmir, and the early trends indicate that Surinder Choudhary from the Jammu & Kashmir National Conference (JKNC) is currently in the lead. He has garnered 4,424 votes, with a significant lead of 2,797 votes. Ravinder Raina of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is in second place with 1,627 votes. Meanwhile, Haq Nawaz of the Jammu & Kashmir Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) is trailing with just 65 votes, significantly behind the leading candidates.

The counting of votes for the Nowshera Assembly seat in Jammu & Kashmir has begun. Currently, BJP candidate Ravinder Raina is leading over Haq Nawaz from JKPDP, while other candidates, including Manohar Singh (BSP), Surinder Choudhary (JKNC), and independent Shiv Dev Sharma, remain in the fray.

As the vote tally continues, exit polls have predicted the BJP to secure between 27 to 32 seats in the region, JKPDP between 6 to 12 seats, the National Conference alliance between 40 to 48 seats, and other parties between 6 to 11 seats. The final results will soon reveal if the predictions hold true.
