Senior diplomat Nagma Mohamed Mallick on Thursday was appointed as India's ambassador to Japan.
Mallick, 1991-batch Indian Foreign Service officer, is presently serving as India's ambassador to Poland. She is expected to take up the assignment shortly, the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) said.
Mallick succeeds Sibi George as India's envoy to Japan.
George recently took charge as secretary (west) in the MEA's headquarters in New Delhi.
