Overturning a decision by the Delhi government, the Supreme Court on Wednesday allowed the temporary sale of green crackers in the national capital region (NCR). However, the top court limited the usage of green crackers to four days- from October 18 to October 21. A Bench of Chief Justice of India (CJI) BR Gavai and Justice Vinod Chandran ordered that sale green crackers shall be permitted from October 18 to October 25. The bursting of such firecrackers shall be confined from 6 pm to 10 pm, the Court further directed.
