The Delhi Crime Branch has registered two separate FIRs against Al-Falah University, one on charges of cheating and another under sections related to forgery, officials said on Saturday.
According to the Delhi Police, a team from the Crime Branch visited the university’s Okhla office earlier in the day as part of the ongoing investigation. Officers examined records and sought specific documents linked to the alleged irregularities.
The Delhi Police confirmed that a formal notice has been issued to the university, directing it to submit the required documents for further scrutiny.
Meanwhile, the Association of Indian Universities (AIU) on Thursday revoked the membership of Al Falah University, which is under the scanner for its alleged links to the November 10 Red Fort blast that claimed 13 lives and left several others injured.
Sources said the government has ordered a comprehensive forensic audit of the university’s records. Financial agencies, including the Enforcement Directorate (ED), have also been tasked with examining the institution’s money trail to determine any possible irregularities.
These directives were issued following a high-level review meeting led by Union Home Minister Amit Shah. The meeting, which went on for more than an hour and a half, assessed the latest findings in the investigation into the blast near the iconic monument.
"An order has been issued to carry out a forensic audit of all records of Al Falah University. The ED (Enforcement Directorate) and other financial agencies were also asked by the government to check the money trail of Al Falah University," the sources said.
