In the wake of ongoing tensions between India and Pakistan, the Delhi Airport has said that its operations are continuing as normal. However, the airport said that due to the enhanced security measures that have been put in place, some flight schedules and security processes at checkpoints may be affected.
"Passengers are kindly advised to: Follow updates and instructions provided by their respective airlines, comply with hand baggage and check-in luggage regulations, allow extra time for security checks due to heightened measures, cooperate with airline and security personnel for smooth facilitation, check the latest flight status through their airline or on the official Delhi Airport website," the advisory said.
The advisory further urged travellers to rely only on official channels for accurate updates and assured them that the airport is working closely with the stakeholders to ensure a safe journey.
The notification came hours after Pakistan violated the ceasefire after reaching a truce with India and announcing it early in the evening of May 10. Just hours after announcing the ceasefire, Pakistani drones were spotted in Jammu and explosions were heard in several areas.
However, ANI reported on Sunday that no new firing or shelling has been reported from any violence-prone area.
