A total of 1,334 patients recovered from the infection and were given discharge in the last 24 hours, taking the recovery count to 1,18,565.

New cases of COVID-19 rose in 27 out of 50 U.S. states in September compared with August, led by an increase of 111% in Wisconsin, according to an analysis by news agency Reuters.
The Midwest states of North Dakota, South Dakota and Wisconsin all saw cases surge more than 50% month-over-month, as did Montana, Utah, West Virginia and Wyoming.
The United States reported 1.18 million new cases in September compared with 1.41 million in August.

Jharkhand education minister Jagarnath Mahato, who had tested positive for COVID-19 earlier in the week, was on Thursday shifted to a private hospital in Ranchi from state-run Rajendra Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS), after he complained of breathlessness.
A spokesperson at RIMS said that Mahato had requested that he be shifted to Medica, following which arrangements were made and the minister was moved to the private hospital.

The Maharashtra state government announced new ‘Unlock 5.0’ guidelines yesterday. The state government has not allowed reopening of cinema halls and schools will remain closed in Maharashtra.
However, all food courts, restaurants and bars have been allowed to reopen for in-house dining from October 5. They will be permitted to operate with not more than 50 percent of their capacities.
