Woman dies after being hit by bus

Mumbai, Feb 7 (PTI) In a hit-and-run case, a woman working with an insurance broking firm died of grievous head injuries after being knocked down by a private bus at Chakala junction in suburban Andheri today, police said. The deceased Preeti Kamble (28) was on her way to offer prayers at the Holy Family Church after reaching her office when the bus knocked her down this morning, they said adding the driver of the bus sped away after the incident. The resident of neighbouring Thane city, Kamble was working as an assistant manager in an insurance broking firm. Police said they rushed her to Cooper hospital where she was declared brought dead. A female pedestrian stated that she saw a private bus hitting Kamble, police said adding that they were enquiring with private bus depots. PTI VM ABC
