MP to procure 115 lakh MT of wheat in rabi season

Bhopal, Feb 8 (PTI) A target has been set to procure 115 lakh metric tonnes of wheat during this Rabi season in Madhya Pradesh, state Food and Civil Supplies Minister Paras Jain said. In view of the huge quantity of wheat to be procured, the state government has made elaborate arrangements for its safe transportation and storage, Jain gave this information at a meeting last evening while reviewing procurement arrangements for wheat and status of paddy and coarse cereals procured during the Kharif season. All arrangements at procurement centres should be better than the ones made last year, he said. Special attention should be paid to ensure that entire procured wheat is safely stored before the onset of rainy season. PTI AS GK
