New Delhi, Feb 7 (PTI) A digital volunteer programme was launched today by the Information and Broadcasting Ministry which would allow the government to spread its development messages across social media platforms. The initiative, titled 'My India Initiative-A Digital Volunteer Programme', was a milestone as it would enable initiative was a milestone as it would enable the government to disseminate information to citizens especially the youth of the country, I&B Minister Manish Tewari said. He called upon the youth to be part of the 'digital volunteer family' that would enable the government to have a personalised interaction with the citizens. Officials said that registration for the programme is now open at the Ministry's blog. After people are selected, they would be regularly sent updates about various government initiatives and plans, which they would assist in disseminating on the net. The feedback received from netizens on the social space would also be gathered and analysed, they said. The Ministry has also planned for the first time a live Twitter conference on the eve of Third Community Radio Sammelan tomorrow at 4 PM. The topic for the Twitter conference is 'Community Radio: Road Travelled & way forward'. This live Twitter conference will give Twitter users opportunity to interact with the Ministry officials, including Secretary of the Ministry of I&B. PTI ADS RAI
